Why you’ll like it:

Oriental Place rises up from the sea to greet a historic maze of streets leading up to the bustling city centre and Western Road. The buildings here offer some of the finest examples of Regency architecture with stunning features including Ionic pilasters and ornate iron work. You enter the main building through a smart black door and into a communal hallway, where you make the short climb to this studio apartment on the second floor.

You enter into a short corridor where there is space to hang your coats and organise your shoes, and the bathroom is directly ahead. While this is an internal space it is well-lit and fresh in white with a spacious shower cubicle, a heated towel rail and iridescent black mosaic tiling details.

Moving through to the main studio room, you are immediately drawn to the light which fills the space via three wide sash windows facing west. These frame the beautiful buildings opposite, and during the summer they can be left open to bring the cool coastal breeze in. The floors are wooden with lemon walls to complement, and the space has been zoned to provide separate areas for relaxing, dining, cooking and sleeping which has a visually separate space up a step on the south side of the room.

The kitchen runs along the northern wall and has been well-designed for the space with plenty of storage and space for a tall fridge freezer. It had been a holiday let property at one time so there is no cooker in place, but space for one could easily be created, or a table top variety would have space on the work tops alongside the sink.

There are lots of local pubs and eateries, namely the popular Lion and Lobster gastro pub, and the terraces on the local seafront hotel have recently been renovated and will be beautiful to sit and watch the sea from in the summer. The beach itself is also a lovely place to socialise, and even in winter it can make an atmospheric backdrop on blustery walks. Being so central, and easy to move into, this flat is sure to attract many.

Agent’s thoughts:

This is a great pad in a hugely popular location, and while it is in fine shape to move straight into, there is also scope for modernisation should you choose.

Owner’s secret:

“This is a wonderfully vibrant and historic area to live in, and there is so much going on, right here on your doorstep - from festivals, to theatre shows, live music gigs and more.”

Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
