*Vendor's comments:* "Coventry Road was our first house purchase and I have lots of happy memories there, we even all survived lockdown living together in it! Seb and I enjoyed having the back bedroom because of all the natural light and being able to look out over the garden. We never quite got around to it but we always thought the space to the side, back or loft may be good extension options.
South Norwood has lots to offer - Marilia and I used to be stallholders at Clocktower Market which is monthly and includes food, arts and other goods made by local residents. I also love how close the house is to South Norwood Country Park - great for walks and Park Run. The tenants who have lived there for the last couple of years also said they enjoyed the area. And if you want to get into central London the trains to London Bridge are regular and speedy!
I grew up in South Norwood, spending 30 years in the area. I have seen the area change a lot, with more cafes, bars and independent businesses opening up in recent years, with a lot of interesting places to visit. From a community perspective, there are community markets and groups that have protected the public library, groups beautifying and protecting the landscape and local food and music festivals.
There are of course good connections to London, Croydon, Crystal Palace and Brighton, but also a lot of history and green spaces to explore locally. For history buffs, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle lived on Tennison Road and Crystal Palace Football Club is experiencing an exciting revival. For nature lovers, you are spoilt for choice with many parks, walks and a short drive to the countryside. If you want the hubbub of London at your fingertips, but also a closer connection to nature, South Norwood is a good place to live, whilst riding the exciting community-led movement taking place at the moment.
I'll always keep this home close to my heart as it was our first home, and where we all shared amazing memories, from painting the walls in the early days with our friends in exchange for a couple of cans of beer and a takeaway to summer BBQs in our garden, the memories are hard to pick from!
As we settled in our house, I'd say what I appreciated the most was both the peace felt in the house, like quiet weekend mornings reading a book in a living room filled with natural light, but also the lovely walks to the nearby green areas and parks, like South Norwood lake or Crystal palace.
The house itself is set in a fantastic location, it was a privilege to have such a lovely space, with a garden but to be able to go into central London or the airport in a matter of minutes. I hope more good memories will be made in this lovely house!"

OnTheMarket may have applied supplementary data to this property listing, including:
Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on December 16, 2021
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on June 27, 2022
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on July 4, 2017 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
