The Property
Appletree House is a handsome detached Grade II Listed village house in a wonderfully tranquil setting near Soho Farmhouse and Great Tew. Built of Cotswold stone under a traditional slate roof the house dates back to 1713 and was built by the architect, Anthony Appletree.

Internally the house is light and spacious with well proportioned reception rooms. The accommodation is versatile and well suited for a family. There are many period features including a delightful panelled study on the first floor with views over the surrounding countryside. To the rear is a large kitchen/breakfast/dining room (23'5 x 14'8) with French doors out to the delightful gardens that frame a sun terrace suitable for alfresco dining. Above there are fi ve bedrooms, a dressing room, two bathrooms and a shower room.

To the rear of the house there are delightful gardens mostly laid to lawn whilst studded with a selection of shrubs and specimen fruit trees. Beyond is a gravel parking area and double garage. There is also a large workshop attached to the side of the house where a path leads down to the front door.

From Oxford take the A44 north towards Chipping Norton. After approximately 13 miles, enter Enstone and opposite the petrol station turn right signposted to the Tews (B4022). At the next junction turn right then immediately left following signs to the Tews. After approximately 2.5miles, turn right before Great Tew signposted to Ledwell. After approximately 1.5 miles, straight over the crossroads into Ledwell. On entering the village, follow the lane around to the left and Appletree House is the last house on the right. We suggest you park at the front of the house by the well and we will show you the parking to the rear.
