HISTORY
The property now referred to as 'Yew Tree Farm' was formerly a working farm owned by the Ogston Estate. It was sold by the Estate to private purchasers in 1970, and was owned privately by that family until 2018, when it was sold to the current owners. It is thought that a dwelling existed at this site from the Middle Ages, but the most significant restoration/build was completed in 1882, by William Gladwyn Turbutt and his wife Edith Sofia Turbutt. A date-stone (crest of arms) on the front of the property commemorates this restoration.

There is much historical information attached to the property, and many references are made to it in a book called 'A History of Ogston' compiled by Gladwyn Turbutt, of the Turbutt family, who were former owners of the Ogston Estate. A copy of this book will be provided to the new owners of the property, on completion of the sale.

DESCRIPTION
