Built in three phases between 1850 and 1900, the later and grandest part of the property coincides with the fortunes of the area and the development of the nearby Elan Valley with the dams which were constructed in the late 19th century to provide a water supply to the expanding city of Birmingham.

An attractive period property that has been home to the vendors for the last 23 years in which time they have renovated to a high standard with excellent living accommodation complimented by large bedrooms, all having views out over the River Wye and to the farmland and hills beyond. There are many attractive period features throughout including large bay windows, shutters, fireplaces and cornicing.

The property is built into the bank and therefore the front door is on the middle floor and opens into the hallway and then landing which are two double bedrooms, bathroom and separate WC. The third bedroom with large adjacent WC (scope to become a bathroom) is up a flight of stairs with the main staircase leading down to the ground floor on which the reception rooms are found. These include a large sitting room with door into the garden, an open fire and fitted bookshelves. There is also a family room / study that has been fitted with beautiful bookshelves and cupboards either side of the chimney breast which houses an open fire.

The Kitchen Dining room has a wonderful bespoke made range of cupboards and drawers, plenty of worksurface space and has an Aga fitted into the chimney breast and has a separate oven and hob. There is a door into the utility / boot room and in turn this opens into a large pantry and store.

Garden and Grounds
The gardens are beautifully laid out with lawns and terraces, rose beds and herbaceous borders and have a south facing elevation with a stone wall forming the northern boundary that provides a great deal of shelter and privacy. A low stone wall sets the garden back from the river bank with mature hedges and iron railings keeping it enclosed. The banks onto the river are open and natural. Wye Lodge has the fishing rights along the stretch of the bordering the garden together with wonderful views of the farmland on the other side. A track leads down to the gravelled driveway on which there is parking for two to three cars.
