Chells Manor is a grade II* listed building and an important part of our national heritage. It is mentioned in the Domesday Book and believed to date from around the late 14th/early 15th Century when it formed part of the Manor of Box. The Manor House has evolved over the centuries and more recent alterations and improvements have been made to the fabric and internal finish of the house to bring it in line with modern living, but it is unmistakeably rooted in the past. The original Tudor windows are present in the jettied gable ends of the south elevation and this part of the house features some magnificent timber framing. The dining room has a fine wood panelled fireplace and on the floor of the inner hall is the original chequered stone finish. The house also has a useful cellar.
A heavy oak entrance door leads into a large reception hall off which are 2 cloakrooms and access to the cellar. There are high ceilings throughout the ground floor and most of the reception rooms have a double aspect. All the rooms are beautifully proportioned and there is a recently refitted farmhouse kitchen with electric cooking range, integrated fridge and freezer, dishwasher, butler sink and a wide range of storage units. Just above the door can be seen the original "servants bell" housing. A large utility room is adjacent and has a washing machine and tumble dryer, sink and worktop with cupboards. NB From this room one can gain access to The Retreat.
On the first floor is a wide landing off which all rooms lead. At the end of this is a secondary staircase leading back down to a rear hall. The magnificent master bedroom is the showpiece of this floor with its westerly aspect and high vaulted ceiling featuring spectacular 15th century timber framing. Next to it is a large en suite bathroom with double ended bath, pedestal sink and WC. Guest bedroom with en suite shower, 3 further double bedrooms (one with en suite shower) and a shower room with separate WC.
The Retreat
This is attached to the rear of Chells Manor and has vehicular access from the main drive. Via its own front door it opens into a delightful sitting room with exposed ceiling beams, this leads to an inner hall with access to a fitted kitchen with oven and hob and fridge/freezer. It has its own gas fired boiler and independent electric meter. An open tread stairway leads up to a double bedroom and en suite bathroom with sink, WC and bath. From the inner hall is a door to a pretty courtyard garden facing west.
Outside
The house stands on a secluded and established plot of almost 2/3 acre comprising various lawns screened by mature trees, shrubs and hedgerows. There is an impressive carriage drive with central shrubbery, well stocked front borders and climbing plants to front and side elevation. Steps up to a large gravelled drive with 5 barred gate and parking for several cars. Gated access to The Retreat which also has its own access drive.

Broadband availability and predicted speed
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
