Description - Upadown and Coombe Cottage at present comprise two properties. A delightful main three bedroom, two reception cottage with double garage, and a further two bedroom cottage. Both have private parking and gardens with stunning countryside views. The current owner uses Upadown on occasions for their private use and Coombe cottages is currently rented, however we do believe the property has been used as one in the past and there is still an interconnecting door for anybody who wishes to reinstate this. Alternatively the property would be ideal for anybody looking for a main home with income, two successful holiday lets or for dual occupancy. We understand the cottages date back to approximately 1845 and still hold an abundance of character and charm along with many original features.
Upadown - Entrance hall with stairs to first floor and doors leading into ground floor accommodation which comprises: The wonderful dual aspect living room with inglenook fireplace with wood burner and bread oven. Exposed ceiling timbers and beams, two window seats and door leading to the conservatory, a lovely addition to the property making the most of those wonderful views and with French doors to the garden. From the far end of the lounge is a door which leads to the 'Wash House' which is a very useful space with plumbing for white goods, wall-mounted hand basin, WC, door to garden and further door into the Garage.
The kitchen/diner which is on the other side of the cottage is a lovely room with exposed beams and ceiling timbers. The kicthen area has a breakfast bar with exposed stonework and a good range of floor and wall units, inset sink and integrated double oven, electric hob with extractor above. The dining area houses the oil-fired Aga, understairs cupboard and space for dining table. From the kitchen area a further door leads to an inner hall, with shower room including shower enclosure, WC and sink. This inner hall adjoins to Coombe Cottage with an interconnecting door in place but is currently blocked up but can easily be reinstated. (please refer to floorplan)
The first floor includes a spacious landing with window overlooking the rear garden and countryside views beyond. From here is access to the Family bathroom with side panel bath, WC and sink with vanity unit. The three bedrooms are of good size with the principle bedroom being a delightful double aspect room with stunning views, exposed ceiling timbers and fitted wardrobes.
Coombe Cottage - Front door leading into the living room with brick fireplace and woodburner, door to rear lobby with door to garden and interconnecting door to Coombe Cottage (as described earlier)
The Kitchen/diner is a double aspect room with exposed ceiling timbers, a good range of wall and base units space for electric cooker, fridge and plumbing for white goods/dishwasher.
The first floor includes the bathroom and two bedrooms
Outside - Upadown includes ample parking and access to the double garage with electric up and over door. To the rear is a very pretty and private garden with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. There is a large paved patio area, a pond with Koi, a lawned area with well-stocked flower and shrub boarders and garden shed. There is a pedestrian gate to driveway.
Coombe Cottage also benefits from parking and a private rear garden, again benefitting from some lovely views.
