Ladyburn House is situated in a private and peaceful location south of the county town of Ayr on the west coast of Scotland. It is about 4 miles from Dailly and 5 miles from Maybole which offers local shops, a small supermarket, swimming pool and both primary and secondary schooling whilst more comprehensive shopping, sporting facilities and services are available in Ayr and Girvan (10 miles). Private schooling is available at Wellington in Ayr (13 miles).

There are excellent transport links with a regular train service from Maybole Railway Station and Glasgow Prestwick Airport is 19 miles distant offering regular scheduled international flights.

Ayrshire is renowned for its many golf courses including the world famous facilities at Turnberry (13 miles), Royal Troon (21 miles) and Prestwick (17 miles). The popular racecourse in Ayr is host to the Scottish Grand National and there are excellent yachting facilities at the Marinas in Troon, Largs and Inverkip. Alloway, south of Ayr, is famous as the birthplace of Robert Burns and Maybole has many historic links to the Scottish poet.

There are several interesting walks in the area including the Barony Hill Walk, a 10.5km circular walk which passes the now derelict Dalquharran Mansion, which was built in 1786 to a design by Robert Adam. After crossing the river the ruins of the old Dalquharran Castle can been seen through the woods.

Culzean Castle & Country Park (10.5 miles) is home to the cliff-top castle, woodland walks, swan pond, play parks, gift and a coffee shop.

DESCRIPTION

The wonderful and sizeable dining room has a wood-burning stove set in brick with a wooden mantelpiece. The windows with original shutters overlook the drive, garden and surrounding country.
