THE BURRSWOOD ESTATE:
Built in approximately 1839, The Burrswood Estate Manor is a Grade II listed property designed by the famous architect Decimus Burton. Originally built for Alderman David Salomans, who became the High Sheriff for Kent and Sussex, and later requisitioned by the military in the Second World War. In 1948, the property was purchased by Dorothy Kerin and used for both spiritual and physical healing. The estate was later used as a well-being centre, closing in April 2019.
