The Cedars is of Georgian origins with a Victorian frontage, situated in a slightly elevated, almost hidden village setting, set well back in its gardens.

The house has an attractive and distinctive elevation with full height double bay windows and a parapet with a stone balustrade. Internally, all period features have been retained including moulded ceiling cornices, architraves and skirting boards, dado rails and panelled doors.

The present owners purchased the property in 1995 and have since carried out several excellent alterations and extensions, including replacing the kitchen, adding on the superb garden room and installing bathrooms. The property is extremely well-presented and all improvements have been carried out sensitively to blend with the period of the house.

A vestibule opens into an attractive central reception hall with polished stone floor. The drawing and dining rooms are elegant, each with a period fireplace and bay window facing south. The study, facing south, has French doors opening out to the terrace and front garden. Across from the study is a utility room with useful storage. The sitting room comfortable with stone fireplace fitted with a log burning stove. The excellent kitchen with Aga is well-fitted with painted wood units and a walk-in pantry. The superb garden room, which benefits from underfloor heating, has a bay window that looks to the east, south and west and opens to the garden. The adjoining 13' boot room, also with underfloor hearing, could easily provide a separate breakfast room. The cellar, accessed from the reception hall, is of good ceiling height.

On the first floor, the principal bedroom with bay window and stunning views, has a well-fitted out dressing room and en suite bath/shower room. There are two further bedrooms, one with bay windows, each with en suite bath/shower room and a family shower room. The second floor has three double bedrooms and a bath/shower room.

The Cedars is approached over a long drive leading to an inner drive and parking area behind the house. Fronting the inner drive is a range of rendered tile and slate outbuildings converted into a single garage and a double carport with an office and storage room over. Separated by central stone steps is a detached rendered and tile store room. In the garden situated along the eastern perimeter is a detached two-storey barn, with a detached brick and glazed greenhouse situated at a lower level. There is a second vehicular access, between solid double timber gates.

The gardens lie to the south, east and north of the house and are completely surrounded by natural stone walls, creating privacy. The views are superb. The gardens are laid principally to three shallow terraces of lawn, one of which is level, all of which are interspersed with trees.

Attractive stone walls separate sections of the garden. There are shaped beds and borders planted with shrubs and a rockery. A walled kitchen garden with brick pathway, a Ginkgo tree and a separate soft fruit cage lies to the north. In a lower lawn, is a mixed orchard containing apple, plum and pear. Separated from this area is the front lawn with a magnificent Cedar after which the house derives its name. Immediately in front of the house is a stone terrace which spans almost the width of the house.

In all the property amounts to 1.19 acres.
