DOG WALKS

The Ventongimps Moor nature reserve is a rich mosaic of wet and dry heath, as well as areas of bog, ponds and woodland. The combination provides a unique series of habitats, once widespread, but now restricted to a few special places. Dorset heath occurs here and the ponds provide an excellent habitat for dragonflies and damselflies. In 1977, the remains of a Second World War bomber were found here, the hole formed a valuable pond and dogs are welcome on a lead. If you prefer some refreshment at the end of your walk, head down to Perranporth Beach where dogs are allowed on the beach all year around, although during July and August they are required to be on a lead between 10am and 5pm.  There are plenty of pubs and restaurants that allow dogs in Perranporth.
