DESCRIPTION

This impressive unlisted property dates back to 1874 and displays many fine period features and intricate detailing.

Externally the beautiful double fronted stone façade features lead light windows with stone mullions, carved stone surround to the front doors and a carved date stone, all under a castellated parapet with finial. To the rear are double height windows including elaborate lead light detailing on the stairwell windows, and the twin chimney stacks of the main fireplace. A beautiful orangery with stonework incorporated has been added to the rear of the house.

Internally, the intricate detailing continues, primarily in the impressive drawing room, dominated by a large fireplace with stone surround and decorated breast, oak panelling to the walls with ionic pillars and dentil cornice, oak flooring, and ceiling roses. At one end of the room an imposing wide oak staircase rises to the first floor.

The character of the property has sympathetically been brought up to modern standards through the introduction of contemporary bathroom suites, a striking kitchen and fitted furniture by Chambers, a cinema room and gym.

The plot extends to about 0.83 of an acre including a private gated entrance off the shared driveway, with a deep frontage to the house providing off-road parking, garage and car port. The garden to the south-facing rear of the house has been beautifully landscaped to provide various seating and entertaining areas, an expanse of lawn, putting green and koi carp pond, with Lutron lighting. There is also a cabin in the grounds which could be utilized as a recreation room or home office.

The flexible accommodation includes 4 bedrooms and 3 bath/shower rooms (2 ensuite) and there is potential to create an annexe in the “North wing” of the house, which currently comprises a cinema room, utility room and gym with separate front access.
