  • Six bedrooms, three of which have en-suites

This imposing Georgian residence is full of original internal features including high coved ceilings, original wood flooring, multi-pane sash windows, lighting roses, picture rails, fireplaces, high skirting boards and panelled doors. It is approached through a wrought iron gate and pathway flanked by a lawn and a copper beech hedge that leads to the original porch that frames the front door.

The hall opens to the ground floor rooms including the dual aspect sitting room with a bay window and a Georgian style fireplace and open fire. The dual aspect dining room includes the original Georgian fireplace, French doors to the rear garden and a bay window with a box seat.

The kitchen has a range cooker, white units, stand-alone appliances, a brick and timber arch to the breakfast bar area and an external stable door with an old ship's timber lintel. There is floor access to the large basement with its utility area, wine cellar, store area and storerooms. Floor access to the basement is also available from the well fitted study/snug.

On the staircase half landing there is an arch shaped multi-pane window while the first floor landing includes an open plan landing area, access to a luxurious family bathroom and two double bedrooms including a large one with a Jack and Jill en suite shower. On the second floor there are two double en suite bedrooms, a single with an adjacent bathroom and a large room with an original fireplace.

Outside the enclosed rear garden includes a terrace, artificial grass, shrubs and a path to the back gate leading to the double carport and the driveway. Beyond the copper beech hedge is a ‘secret garden' with flower beds and a secluded terrace.

What the Owner says:
We moved here some 26 years as we have four children so needed the space and we fell in love with the house as soon as we walked through the front door as it has so much warmth and character. In recent years we have enjoyed having bed and breakfast guests as well but we feel it is now time for us to downsize. The location is close to the station and Upper Walmer village has useful shops and a gastropub. Over the years we have refurbished the property and installed double glazed windows at the rear of the house and on the top floor.

Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on May 30, 2022

Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:

    Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
    Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
    Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2

Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on May 30, 2022

Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services

Energy Performance data and Internal floor area
