Description

Hall Farmhouse is a wonderful Grade II listed five-bedroom hall extending to approximately 4,563 sq ft of generous accommodation. The present owners have maintained the property in their tenure to create a welcoming family home in a stunning position overlooking farmland.

Stokesby Hall is set within the centre of Hall Farm and originally
dates back to the 14th century and was built by the Clere family who hailed from Ormesby. Stokesby Hall and the surrounding land stayed within the Clere family until it was passed via marriage to Sir Thomas Windham in 1639. The house was later then sold to George England the 2nd in 1712. England was a merchant who served as MP for Great Yarmouth and died in 1725. George England the 2nd was able to use Stokesby Hall and its proximity to the River Bure to gain access into Great Yarmouth for both his work as a merchant and latterly in his life as a member of parliament.

The property is spread over three floors and of particular note to the ground floor is how the elegant drawing room perfectly combines with the older part of the house and is a wonderful and surprising contrast to the sitting room with its inglenook fireplace. With five bedrooms to the first and second floors being well served via an en suite to the principal room and both a family bathroom and shower room to serve the remaining rooms allowing for ample guest or large family occupancy.

Whilst in places the property could now benefit from some modernisation this well loved and grand home is a rare opportunity to own such an impressive country house.

Outside
Situated in gardens and grounds of about 3 acres, Hall Farmhouse is approached via a lengthy tree lined drive which leads into parking for numerous vehicles as well as both an attractive cart lodge and garage for additional parking. The grounds are mainly laid to lawn with a variety of tree and mature shrub in situ allowing the majority of garden to have exceptional privacy. An attractive walled courtyard provides a brilliant outdoor entertaining space as well as consisting of several useful outbuildings including one which has been utilised as a home office.

Location

Hall Farmhouse is situated on the edge of the village of Stokesby which located on the banks of the River Bure. Stokesby is an attractive rural village that has a pub, village hall and social club as well as beautiful local walks along the marshes.

Hall Farmhouse is located approximately three miles due east of the market town of Acle which boasts an extensive number of both independent and larger shops alongside other amenities.

Hall Farmhouse is within close proximity to the city of Norwich which is around 15 miles to the west.
