The interesting south and east elevations have full height bay windows under a slate roof. The owners purchased the property in 2003 looking for north light as they were painters as well as a south view.
It was modernised by installing double glazed windows throughout, stripping the pine floorboards, replacing bathrooms, installing an oak kitchen, electric Aga and slate floors throughout kitchen area. Elsewhere, there are slate, walnut and pine floors. Simple ceiling cornices have been retained and stone fireplaces were reopened and log burning stoves installed.
The rooms have comfortable ceiling heights and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. The views from all the principal rooms are outstanding looking down an unspoilt valley, whilst the rear view is over its mixed orchard.
The excellent lower ground floor is divided into three good rooms currently used as storage and workshops with full height windows, central heating and a door opening outside to the driveway.
The ground floor consists of the kitchen, drawing room with walnut floor, library and bedroom 5 with an en-suite bathroom.
The first floor accommodation is extremely adaptable. There are currently three bedrooms off the landing with the principal bedroom and bedroom 2 linking with a Jack and Jill bathroom. These rooms have wonderful views down the valley and could create a spacious suite with bedroom 2 being a large dressing room.
To the west on the first floor, there is a self contained flat (House Martins) which is accessed from either the first floor landing or via a secondary staircase. This area includes a bathroom, kitchen and bed sitting room marked as bed 4 on the floor plans and kitchen which could be converted back to a further bedroom.
The current owners also built a self contained wing which could easily be incorporated into the main house if required with a pair of interconnecting doors from bedroom 5 leading to a large open plan kitchen/sitting/dining room. The staircase leads to the first floor with a bedroom and bathroom.
From a distance the Scotch Pines frame Hunters lodge majestically. As you approach through stone pillars to Hunters lodge there is a long drive with lawn and beds of heather and mature shrubs including Azalea on either side. The drive continues past the house to a parking area. The garden surrounds the house on all sides and there are natural stonewalls, pathways and sitting areas around the property to capture the light and views.
Beside the parking area, there are large shaped beds planted with spring flowers, shrubbery bed, camellia and mature trees which include Oak, weeping willow, Rowan, laurel hedge, fig tree and much more Wisteria reaches up the front of the house with jasmine by the front door. Agapanthus fills the beds.
Behind the house, with lovely views, is a gentle sloping lawn interspersed with mixed fruit trees including Cherry, Apple, Pear and Crab Apple. To the east is an enclosed kitchen garden with a soft fruit area and a small pond.
In all the property extends to about 2.16 acres and further land on the other side of the lane is available separately if required..

Broadband availability and predicted speed
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
