The Story
Walking through her home, enjoying the light and the space, the current owner of the property on Prince Andrew Way agrees it feels like a completely different house. Since carrying out the work to extend and upgrade the property, she has found it to be the perfect place to raise her children and spend time with family and friends. “It is almost unrecognisable from the house I bought in 2016,” she says. “When I first came to look at it, I thought it had such a lot of scope. I could imagine how it could be extended and made into the kind of home I was looking for.”

PERFECT PLACE
Situated in North Ascot, it was also within easy reach of everything she needed: schools, shops and Ascot High Street were all within walking distance. The property was in a good location for reaching train stations and major roads for travelling into London and elsewhere across the country. “The location really appealed to me,” she recalls. “Prince Andrew Way is a quiet, no-through road and I knew it would be a peaceful place to live and a great place for children. There are two parks within a short walking distance and there is a duck pond at the end of the road that we used to visit all the time when they were little. As the children have got older it has also worked really well for us.”
AMAZING SPACE
Originally a two-bedroom house, with a kitchen, bathroom and one reception room downstairs, the property now has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and substantial living space. “I had double-storey extensions carried out to the side and rear,” she explains. “This created additional space and allowed the layout to be reconfigured.” Today, the front door opens into a new entrance area, with a door into a ground-floor cloakroom and wet room. The property then opens up into the heart of the house, the open-plan kitchen, dining and family room. “This is where we spend most of our time,” she says. “My younger daughter can have her toys out and play her games while my older one watches television and I get the dinner ready. It is perfect for us.”
GLORIOUS SUNSHINE
This exceptionally large area features bi-folding doors at one end. “It is such a light room – it’s sunny all day long,” the owner says. “In the summer we keep the doors open and the children can come in and out. It is also brilliant for entertaining. On Mother’s Day we had the whole family here and it was lovely because people gathered round the large dining table and chatted to me as I was cooking. It is a room where people can be together and feel connected yet can also spread out if they want to.”
FLEXIBLE ROOM
To the front of the house there is a second drawing room. This has been a superb quiet space for family members to wander off to. “It has also been very useful when people have disagreed about what to watch on television,” she observes. This room could be a home office, playroom or dining room instead, should new owners have other requirements. The three bedrooms are all upstairs, together with the family bathroom. “All the bedrooms are a good size,” she adds.
READY AND WAITING
In the warmer months, the family enjoy wandering from the kitchen, dining and family room out into the sunshine at the back of the property. The bi-folding doors create seamless indoor-outdoor living between the home and the garden, which has been landscaped in their time. “I added a new terrace and there is now also an area of decking at the bottom of the garden,” she says. “We have a very small stream, which runs down to the pond that we used to visit when the children were small. It is a very nice garden to sit out and relax in.” The owner and her family are sad to be moving on after transforming the house into their ideal home. “I will miss it all when we go,” she says. “It has been such a great place to live. Every room has now been renovated, refurbished or redecorated. It is completely ready for someone else to move straight into.”
SETTING THE SCENE
There is off-street parking at the house. To the rear, it opens up on to a good-sized family garden, with a terrace, area of decking and ample space for children to play. There is also a small stream.

OnTheMarket may have applied supplementary data to this property listing, including:
Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on December 20, 2021
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on January 13, 2022
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on August 22, 2016 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
