Description

The date stone on the front of Sheepfold Cottage reads 1722, and at this time it was probably a pair of cottages. Today it is a single house with light and well-proportioned rooms with good ceiling heights. Throughout the property there are appealing period details and from every window lovely views of the gardens or the unspoiled surrounding village and fields. The property was completely refurbished in the early 1970’s and the current owner has extended and maintained it very well.

The kitchen/Dining room which has an oil fired Aga is the hub of the house, and this adjoins the conservatory. The sitting room, with its exposed beams, is the oldest part of the building and completing the ground floor is the study. At first floor there are three double bedrooms, the principal with an en suite shower room and a second family bathroom also with a shower.

OUTSIDE

The setting of Sheepfold Cottage is quite exceptional, being surrounded by its gardens which overlook adjoining farmland or run down to the waters edge. The mature gardens are well stocked with a variety of trees, border beds and planting. To the West there is a pergola for sitting out and enjoying the sun.

The house is approached from the village road by a gravel drive which leads to a parking area for several cars, here also is the single garage and Ginger Bread Cottage. A separate cottage with an open plan Kitchen/Dining/Sitting Room and a shower room on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a large double bedroom.
