Words From The Seller

Having been in the building trade for over 40 years I always wondered why planning requirements for new homes hasn’t really moved on since the 90’s, this became my obsession.  Simply explained MORE is LESS… double the insulation and make the house airtight, use alloy clad timber windows not PVC , triple glaze not double, every window, door and roof light, install M.V.H.R Ventilation for fresh air,  Install solar pv panels and get free electric, install solar thermal panel and get free hot water.  Install electric heat pump not gas boiler,  Harvest all the rain water to keep are water bills down,  yes more expensive but you get out what you put in, the house preforms very well and in the present financial crisis the timing was great. Channel 4 got wind of are plans so our house from plot to completely finished was featured on Building the Dream. It will be very sad to leave our home of almost 9 years, but know the new owners will enjoy Fox Cottage as much as we have.
