The Story
On warm days, the owners of the house on New Road like to throw open the French windows on to their garden and make the most of the indoor-outdoor living opportunities at their Ascot home. The three-storey property has an exceptionally generous drawing, dining and family room, which flows easily on to the garden they have designed for entertaining friends, as well as relaxation. “We had the garden completely landscaped and had a hot tub installed to make it much more of a social space,” one of them explains. “We are a very sociable couple and like to welcome friends and family. We often have barbecues on summer days and friends round for the evening. We have created seating and dining areas and made it into a really nice place to spend time.”
MAKING AN IMPRESSION
It was almost four years ago now that the couple bought the house from new. As the show home for the development, it had already been completed and had an immaculate finish. “I just adored it as soon as I walked inside,” she recalls. “I knew immediately that it was the home for me. It was beautifully designed and very spacious. The master suite on the top floor was especially impressive.” The couple had been looking for their new home across a wide area. “We initially had a broad radius and were very pleased when we found this location,” she continues. “It had everything we were looking for, including good transport connections and brilliant walks – combined with the house, it was just perfect for us.”
CONTEMPORARY KITCHEN
The three-storey house is set back from the road by a generous driveway. It is entered via a central reception hall and has the kitchen to the front. Featuring light units, quartz work surfaces and integrated appliances, this is well designed to make cooking easy and to offer ample storage. “The arrangement of the kitchen has always worked very well for us and has been ideal when we have had guests over for dinner parties,” she says. Also accessed from the hall is the long garage. “This has been a great addition to the house as we have set part of it up as a gym. We both like to exercise five times a week so this has been perfect.”
FLEXIBLE HOME
New owners could, of course, choose to use this space for a different purpose altogether, perhaps as a laundry or office, if not as a garage. The main reception room spans right across the back of the house, with windows and French windows looking out over the garden. The current owners use it as a drawing and dining room, arranging it with both comfortable seating and a table and chairs. Others may choose to have a work or play area within the room. “This is another very flexible space,” she observes. “For us, it has been brilliant for entertaining, especially as it opens on to the garden, but someone else may wish to use it as more of a family room.”
LIGHT AND AIRY
Three of the double bedrooms are situated on the first floor. One of these has an en suite shower room. The family bedroom is also at this level. “At the moment we use two of these bedrooms for guests – this is ideal as each bedroom has its own bathroom,” she says. “My partner currently has the third bedroom as a study. The bedrooms here are such good sizes that, again, they could have a variety of uses depending on requirements.” The jewel in the crown, however, is the master suite on the top floor of the house. This is particularly spacious and has a good-size en suite bathroom. “The bedroom is so large that we have a super-king-size bed and there is still an abundance of space. It is lovely and light and airy – a wonderful place to do yoga,” she adds. “It could also be great as a cinema room or playroom.”

BEST OF EVERYTHING
Now relocating, the owners agree they will miss their spacious home, as well as its convenient location. “We can walk to the train station to get into London and yet are also close to wonderful places to walk, like the racecourse,” she says. “Everything we need is so near but it also feels like being in the countryside here. From the front of the house we look out towards the trees to see the changing colours of the leaves and in the summer we relax in the garden, listening to the owls and watching the red kites swooping. It has been an incredible place to live.”
SETTING THE SCENE
To the front of the house there is off-road parking and access to the garage. To the rear, there is an enclosed garden, with a lawn and areas of terrace. There is space for outside seating and a hot tub

OnTheMarket may have applied supplementary data to this property listing, including:
Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on December 22, 2021
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on December 22, 2021
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on January 12, 2018 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
