Description

Are you looking to purchase a period property that is walking distance of Teignmouth Town centre and that could be greatly improved through modernisation and extension (subject to planning permission)? If so, this house could be just what you are looking for!

28 Paradise Road is a lovely period property with many of its original features still in place, including retro fireplaces, larder style cupboards and picture rails. uPVC windows can be found throughout but the house could benefit from a heating system as currently there are open fires and electric heaters in situ.

Due to the property’s elevation, there a few steps leading you up entrance door. You will pass the pretty front garden which is mainly lawn with attractive flowerbed boarders. Once inside the house you are greeted by a spacious entrance hallway with a decorative stained-glass window to the front and a spindle staircase leading to the first floor. The sitting room is a spacious room with a large bay window overlooking the front garden and a retro corner fireplace. The dining room overlooks the rear garden and also benefits from a retro corner fireplace. A further reception room, prefect as a snug, overlooks the rear garden and leads through to the kitchen. An understairs cupboard with shelving, cupboard housing the water tank and a retro fireplace can all be found in the snug. The kitchen currently has a sink, cupboards under and space for an oven. An open archway leads through to a small larder area and adjoining is another walk-in cupboard. There is a window that overlooks the rear garden and a door giving access outside. It is clear that with some re arranging, a modern fitted kitchen would transform area. There are three outbuildings on the other side of the external wall which with the relevant planning permissions, could easily be incorporated with the current kitchen to make a large kitchen extension.

The first floor landing is light and spacious. Bedrooms one is a generous size and overlooks the rear of the property. Bedroom two is also a double room, with a large bay window overlooking the front. Bedroom three is a small single and also looks over the front of the property. The remainder of the first floor is made up of the family bathroom with bath, shower over and wash hand basin and a separate WC. Both of which could be combined and be presented as one good sized family bathroom.

A side pathway leads from the front to the rear of the property. The area is somewhat in two sections with a large courtyard off from the kitchen which has two of the three outbuildings accessed from here. One being a gardener’s loo. The remainder of the garden is pretty in nature with a handful of mature fruit trees, a central lawn and flowerbed boarders.

Situation

The popular seaside town of Teignmouth is set on the lovely South Devon coastline, approximately 14 miles from the Cathedral city of Exeter. Teignmouth has a fine promenade with sandy beaches and fantastic playpark facilities. There are boating opportunities on the estuary and the “back beach” has a selection of public houses and restaurants in a superb marine setting. The town has a good selection of independent shops and cafes, a selection of supermarkets and even an Arts Quarter. Teignmouth has a good range of primary schools, along with a couple of well-regarded secondary schools. There is an 18-hole golf course set on the hills outside the town, the Teign Corinthian Yacht Club and a mainline railway station offering a direct link to London Paddington. Teignmouth also offers fast access to the A380, the M5 motorway and A38, making for an easy commute to Exeter and beyond.

Directions

From Teignmouth train station, at the mini roundabout head north on Myrtle Hill/A379. As the road then bares right, turn left into Lower Brimley Road. Follow this road until it merges into Buckeridge Road. After a short while, turn right into Paradise Road. Number 28 will be found on the right hand side.

Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
