Location

2 Noble Street is located in the hugely popular Cotswolds village of Sherston and in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The property benefits from the pretty, undulating rural scenery and a wonderful network of local walks, whilst also enjoying all the benefits of a thriving village with its highly regarded pub (The Rattlebone), Indian restaurant, excellent village shop and post office, wine shop, primary school and doctors’ surgery. The prosperous towns of Tetbury and Malmesbury are nearby with Cirencester, Bath, Chippenham and Bristol only a little further afield. Tetbury is a desirable and traditional market town well known for its 17th and 18th Century architecture. Although the town is noted for its antiques and boutique shops, there are a wide range of shopping facilities including delicatessen, bakery, butcher and two supermarkets. There are a number of restaurants and cafés.

Malmesbury is increasingly popular and well known for its historic Abbey and being England’s oldest borough. There is a good range of everyday shops and services including bakery, butcher, hardware store and home department store. Waitrose offers supermarket shopping and the associated services of the John Lewis Partnership.

The larger regional centres of Bath and Bristol are nearby and provide a more extensive range of services, shopping and recreational facilities, including Bristol International Airport. Sherston is also conveniently located with access to the M4 motorway at Junctions 17 and 18, which provide access to London and Heathrow Airport as well as Bristol and its international airport. The M4 links with the M5 motorway for the West Country and the North.

Train stations at Kemble and Chippenham provide direct train services to London Paddington from 75 minutes.

The local area offers an abundant range of activities, sporting events and recreational opportunities, and a large variety of village pubs, restaurants and hotels, including nearby Whatley Manor Hotel and Calcot Manor Hotel & Spa.

Other recreational pursuits include; golf at Westonbirt (pay&play) and at Minchinhampton Golf Club; Sailing at the Cotswold Water Park; Swimming and Gymnasium at Westonbirt School Sports Hall; Motor Racing at Castle Combe circuit. There is an enthusiastic Wiltshire county cricket league and football league of which Sherston is an important part. Bath, Bristol and Gloucester are home to top-level Rugby.

The National Arboretum at Westonbirt is a wonderful attraction and hosts a variety of excellent events throughout the spring, summer and autumn; from spring colours and open-air summer concerts to tours of the autumn colours and the “Enchanted Christmas” illuminations.

Aside from Sherston’s good primary school there is Malmesbury School which is rated outstanding by Offsted. The area is well reputed for its prep and public schools. These include Beaudesert Park, Westonbirt, Pinewood, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Cheltenham College, St Mary’s School at Calne and Marlborough College. Bath and Bristol also offer a range of excellent private and grammar schools and the surrounding villages also have well attended primary schools.
