Property description & features

  • Tenure: Freehold
  • Period country home built for modern day living
  • One of the finest of its kind
  • A home of character and luxury
  • Picturesque gardens
  • Breath-taking views across the Corvedale
The Brambles is positioned on the edge of the tiny village of Munslow, in the beautiful Corvedale between Ludlow and Bridgnorth. The original stone and timbered cottage, thought to date back to the 17th Century, was the subject of a major sympathetic renovation in 2003 which was undertaken with complete integrity with the history of the building.

Much of the original timbers have been complemented by seasoned oak, and extensions built in local quarried stone. The house retains much of its original character with the considerable benefits of modern luxury facilities. With oil fired central heating and double glazing The Brambles is a superb country home.

Special features include the main 29' living room with an inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove. There is an adjacent study as well as a large dining area. The splendid kitchen has granite worktops as well as an integrated fridge and an Aga with electric ovens and gas hobs. With rooms for all seasons there is a large built on conservatory sitting room which has under floor electric heating. On the first floor are four very good bedrooms, three with built-in wardrobes, with an en-suite to the principal bedroom.

Not only is the internal accommodation very attractive but the outside includes a large stone built double garage 19'6 x 15'6 with a boarded loft above and an adjacent workshop and separate WC.

The beautiful gardens are certainly the crowning glory of this unique property (rear garden about 90' long x 86' wide). Numerous plants and shrubs have matured over the past years to provide a wonderful horticultural display.

The cottage has fields on either side and at the rear. It fronts a quiet cul-de-sac country lane just a few hundred yards from the village centre. Ludlow is about 9 miles to the west whilst Bridgnorth, with the West Midlands conurbation beyond, is about 15 miles to the east.

Directions
The Brambles lies about 9 miles north east of Ludlow off the B4368 Craven Arms to Bridgnorth road. From Ludlow take the A49 Shrewsbury road north for about 1.5 miles. Turn right onto the B4365 signed Much Wenlock. Continue across the golf and racecourse and through Culmington. At the junction with the B4368 turn right towards Bridgnorth. Continue for just over 3 miles, through Corfton and Aston Munslow into Munslow. In the centre of the village turn left towards the church. Follow the narrow lane for a few hundred yards and turn sharp right at the junction. Continue for about 400 yards. The Brambles is the third house along on the left hand side.
