Pier Cottage is possibly one of the most unique properties and certainly one of the oldest that we have ever had the privilege of marketing. Its wealth of charm and character PLUS its waterfront location actually once made the national newspaper headline with the main heading stating “The cottage built into the rock with the best sea views you'll find”. It was a toll cottage in the 1800s for foot passengers entering Milford Haven, for which they paid an entrance fee. They also paid for high tea in the large building next door which was a hotel. "There even used to be a trap door in the hallway of the cottage where the washing from the hotel next door would be flung, passing it downstairs to be laundered. In old photos and newspaper cuttings you will see a wooden pier where boats used to pull up and let passengers off. Hence the name, Pier Cottage. Inside the cottage the current vendor has framed and hung some of these past images and references to the history of the cottage. One of these fascinating insights into the home's past reads: "In the 1850s Colonel Greville built this 750ft wooden pier from the cliffs between Milford Beach and Scotch Bay. It has a toll house and a hotel and was connected with Hamilton Terrace by Pier Road." In these old photos the hotel is clearly visible and it looks as though it still remains as homes, situated along the cul-de-sac that sees Pier Cottage located at the end.

It’s truly beautiful location is made better by being within walking distance to all of the local amenities. The local Marina is a stone’s throw away from Pier Cottage and a pleasant stroll along the waterfront. Here you will find a varied range of restaurants, bars and boutique shops all overlooking the Harbour views. The local shopping centre is also located on the Marina where you will find the larger shopping stores and all of the local school, doctor’s surgeries and chemists can all be located in the main town of Milford Haven.

Nestled into an stone wall you will find an Entrance Doorway which opens up into Pier Cottage Gardens. The composite decked area with glass balustrades allows you to use this area as not only an entrance into the cottage but a fantastic are to be able to sit out and enjoy the panoramic view in an elevated location. There are steps leading down to the Cottage and also access onto the pretty walled Gardens and the grassed gardens with its colourful array of flowers beds, shrubs and plants which are a joy to see in full view. The front doorway leads into the warm and welcoming Hallway where you will be greeted with character such as the beamed ceilings plus instant water views. This property has been designed to ensure that every room benefits that view from all possible angles and this has certainly been achieved. The large Kitchen is to the overlooking the marina and garden views with a spacious range of wall and base units plus and integral Fridge / Freezer and space and plumbing for free standing appliances. There are French doors which lead into the large Conservatory which makes an ideal area to dine, or to sit and enjoy the outlook on offer. There is also a further Sun Room to the side which would make an ideal reading area or possibly a great study / home office if required. To the opposite side of the Hallway is a Reception Room / Bedroom and could be utilised to each individual need due to its versatile layout. It has a beautiful log burner inset into the feature stone wall making this room a beautiful, cosy room come winter time. The Lounge is to the rear and boasts a further fireplace with ornate surround and a large Bay Window with full height glass panels plus a doorway leading out onto the private Balcony area on top of the water. This adjoins the Master Bedroom Bay window. The Master Bedroom is located on the first floor with built in storage cupboards, an airing cupboard which houses the gas combination boiler and also access onto the En Suite Shower Room. The staircase leads to a large, open Reception Room downstairs which has the loveliest feature fireplace plus 2 porthole windows built into the large stone white washed wall which are unique and in full working condition. There is an under stairs storage cupboard plus double doors which open up into a further Bedroom with large built in storage. There is a further porthole window and another larger arched window where you could easily lay and enjoy the views from your own Bed! There is a ground floor Bathroom which features a roll top bath and the most unusual shower which has been replicated as a phone box as a further injection of character and fun. To the rear of the Bathroom is a large walk in cupboard for storage cupboard.

We also want to mention that this property features its own Garage with electric up and over doors with a workshop / storage to the rear. The whole property has double glazed windows and also gas central heating with a gas combination boiler and radiators in all of the rooms.

The Current vendors stated during the summer months Pier Cottage is a peaceful, calming and relaxing spot. Hearing children playing on the beach in the evening and the waves lapping whilst sitting admiring the view of the waterway with forever activities on the water from the local yacht clubs.
