Incorporating five bedrooms, two reception rooms, two kitchens, and two bathrooms, this generous, extended detached bungalow in Ceres will no doubt appeal to growing families and offers potential for multigenerational living. The home is accompanied by spacious gardens, a detached double garage, and a large driveway.

Set back from the road behind the large driveway, the home's front door opens into a practical entrance vestibule flowing through to a hall. Straight ahead, you step into a wonderfully spacious living and dining room, occupying a generous footprint which allows for various configurations of lounge and dining furniture. The room is further enhanced by neutral décor, a comfortable fitted carpet, and a homely fireplace around which furniture can be arranged. Next door in the kitchen, modern wall and base cabinets are accompanied by spacious worktops and splashback panels, as well as integrated appliances including a raised oven, a hob, and an extractor hood, whilst provision is made for freestanding appliances.

Four bedrooms and a shower room can also be found to the front of the house. Three of the bedrooms are supplemented by built-in storage, and the contemporary shower room comprises a large walk-in enclosure, a WC-suite, and a tall chrome towel radiator.

Sliding doors from the living/dining room lead to a second hall, which in turn affords access to a further open-plan reception room and kitchen, a bedroom, and a shower room, offering potential to be used as a self-contained space for elderly relatives, grown up children, or guests. The bedroom here is accompanied by a built-in wardrobe and could alternatively be used as a home office. The home is kept warm by an electric heating system and the windows are all double glazed.

Externally, the property is complemented by good-sized gardens, with a large, manicured lawn bordered by leafy hedges and trees, a patio for outdoor seating and barbecues, a greenhouse, a shed, and an additional large shed/workshop with lighting and power. Excellent private parking is provided by a detached double garage and a large driveway.

Extras: all fitted floor coverings, window coverings, light fittings, and integrated kitchen appliances will be included in the sale. Some furnishings, including a Chesterfield suite and a two-seater Italian leather sofa, are available by separate negotiation, as well as a tractor mower and an Ivor Williams trailer.

Ceres

Previously referred to as the most attractive village in Scotland, Ceres is a village in the heart of Fife, surrounded by picturesque countryside and just over three miles from the town of Cupar. Ceres has retained much of its old-world charm, with features such as the church steeple, the old weavers cottages, and the humpbacked Bishop's Bridge serving as charming reminders of days gone by. Since 1314 (with a few exceptions), Ceres has held Highland Games in the village, which are the oldest free games in Scotland. Spectators and competitors alike flock from far and wide to the village at the end of June, where the games are accompanied by a market, dancing, music, and other sporting events, ensuring there's something for all the family to get involved in. The Ceres Inn has been a family-friendly pub in the village since 1721, and offers a range of food and drink, as well as a separate room ideal for small functions. Ceres is also home to a Post Office, a minimarket, a number of independent retailers, a café, and Fife Folk Museum, which offers a tea room. More extensive amenities can be found in nearby Cupar, under 10 minutes away by road. The countryside surrounding Ceres offers fantastic opportunities for outdoor pursuits, or for those who prefer to exercise indoors, a number of fitness groups, classes, an gyms can be found in Cupar. Families with children of school age can access education at nursery and primary level in the village, with secondary schooling provided in Cupar or the surrounding towns. Ceres benefits from regular bus links and the surrounding area is easily reachable by road.

Places of interest

We have been helping Dundee, Fife, Angus and Perthshire families with their property needs for generations. Throughout our long history and through ever-changing property markets, we have always focussed on what our clients need, and delivered services built round them. From the 1960s onwards, Thorntons grew to become the largest Scottish-based solicitor estate agency in our operating area.  In the 1980s, we became the first local solicitor estate agent to open the now-familiar high street property shop.   A significant game-changing merger in 1990 transformed the estate agency landscape locally and the firm expanded, opening bustling property shops throughout Dundee and Angus. These property shops gave buyers and sellers their first experience of the one-stop shop’ approach by providing a full range of complementary estate agency and legal services. Building on these solid foundations the firm continued to grow and develop our offering for clients.  In the early 1990s we expanded into Perthshire.  Our most recent expansion has been into Fife in 2014 with mergers with the successful firms Murray Donald and Steel Eldridge Stewart. A number of key staff in our property team have been involved in the evolution of this highly successful operation over recent years.  They have witnessed the expansion of the firm’s market share in both existing and new build property sales, particularly evident in the boom years from 2004 to 2008.  During that period the residential property market provided tremendous opportunities for the firm to harness its strengths and invest for the future. During the less buoyant years which followed, we continued to move forward and prepare for the resurgence of activity in the property market.  Even when the market was at its toughest, we continued to invest in our people and systems to maintain our position and deliver the best service for sellers and buyers. The last 25 years have seen tremendous changes in market demands, with new technology and online opportunities opening up innovative ways for us to deliver services to clients. As well as extending our online client communication we have also invested strongly to provide late night and weekend openings. This ensures buyers and sellers can speak to someone in our branches who will be able to help – at a time that suits them. Our strong involvement with the local solicitors’ property centres continues and forms an important part of our offering.  We have also embraced newer nation-wide online platforms to give sellers the widest choice possible. We continually look to provide our services in an innovative and flexible way – always with the emphasis on what our clients need. And we look forward to building on our past as we continue to deliver top quality estate agency and property services across Dundee, Fife, Angus and Perthshire into the future. Phone Lines Open Monday to Friday 9am - 8pm Saturdays 9am to 4pm Sundays 12pm - 4pm
