More recently known as the Killearn Hotel, trading ceased in 2016 following an unsettled period when a succession of licensees failed to make the hotel profitable. Since then the building has been closed and its condition deteriorated.
It is now being demolished and replaced by a block of sixteen flats, to be called Killearn Court. The plans had originally sought to save the faade of the building, but structural investigation work deemed this unviable. However, the main front of the new building will be similar in design to the original to preserve the character and setting of the conservation area and neighbouring buildings.
