Step Inside

The Crescent is a beautifully designed, modern and contemporary, prestigious development in Highweek on the outskirts of Newton Abbot. The home has been designed with clean lines, neutral tones and lots of large windows to bring in lots of natural light. The home is entered on the ground floor either by the front door or the garage if it's raining. From here there is access to the Study/Bedroom 4. There is also a shower room and WC as well as a useful store cupboard. Shallow steps take you to the main living accommodation floor.

The kitchen dining room is located at the back of the property and has a lovely aspect over the garden. It is fitted with modern units and appliances and there is plenty of space for good sized dining furniture. Bi-fold doors from the dining area open on to the patio and landscaped garden. The utility room is conveniently located off the kitchen, with access to the outside. The generous living room is located to the front of the property and overlooks the grounds and trees of the development. With floor to ceiling windows and a balcony, this room really is flooded with natural day light, even on a dull day. Off the landing there is also a cloakroom/WC.

The second floor has the three bedrooms, all of which are doubles, the master bedroom is to the front and enjoys a pleasant outlook, it has a wonderful ensuite shower room and spacious dressing room too, with high quality fittings and walk in shower. Bedrooms two and three are to the back of the property with lovely views. The main bathroom is well fitted with modern sanitary ware. Stairs from the landing lead up to the roof terrace.

Step Outside

The rear garden is accessed from the kitchen, utility room or side path. It has a level area which has been designed with low maintenance in mind. It has an artificial grass lawn and an attractive paved patio – the stone wall provides an impressive backdrop. The garden is planted with a variety of shrubs and plants. The property also benefits from the roof terrace, a large space providing views over the surrounding area and up to Dartmoor in the distance. This space could hold a number of outdoor furniture items and would make a picturesque entertaining area. To the front of the property there is a driveway and access into the garage. The development has an electric gate at the entrance which is operated by remote control and connected by intercom phone to each property.

Agent Insight

The Crescent was built 2011 to a contemporary design. I love the fact that once you are through the electric gate at the entrance to the development, you are in a totally different environment, the properties at Daracombe Park are all different, a mix of the old and the new, The Crescent really looks lovely. It really is a credit to the original architect.

The house has been nicely finished and has clean lines and well-proportioned rooms. The stairs are wide and shallow, so getting to the upper floors is easy. The accommodation flows beautifully throughout and is efficient too with under floor heating throughout and fantastic insulation. One of the wow factors has got to be the roof terrace, it is a large area which commands beautiful views over the fields and hills up to Dartmoor. The sunsets can only be described as spectacular. There is plenty of space for outdoor furniture and even a hot tub if required.

Location wise it is extremely convenient, all the shops, supermarkets and amenities of Newton Abbot are a short drive away, as is Newton Abbot train station, a trip to London from there can take just two and a half hours. Being so close to both Dartmoor and the beaches at Teignmouth and Shaldon is also a major plus point, you can be at either in around twenty minutes.

Location

Newton Abbot is a regional market town in South Devon, well served by dual carriageway from the M5 at Exeter (11 miles) and with a main line railway station for London, Exeter and Plymouth. It has a town centre with local and national shops, a choice of schools, golf, sailing and other recreational facilities in the area. Highweek Village is a special residential area on the NW fringe of Newton Abbot about a mile from the town centre, with church, village hall, schools and buses. It is about 3 miles from the A 38 dual carriageway for Exeter and Plymouth and about 6 miles from the open spaces of the Dartmoor National Park beyond Bovey Tracey. The Crescent was developed in 2011 with four detached contemporary houses in the former grounds of Darracombe Park, a small private gated development. The detached house was built by the well-respected Dart Developments to an exciting contemporary design which provides a surprising amount of internal space, with under-floor central heating, quality panelled doors, high thermal insulation and a walled roof garden suitable for barbecues, hot tubs etc.
