Located less than 5 miles away from the largest town in North Devon, Barnstaple, Tarka Holiday Park is ideally situated for a relaxing, laid-back visit. Tarka has no clubhouse, swimming pool or restaurant, but what it does have is a unique atmosphere of serenity and seclusion, perfect for discerning holiday guests where peace and tranquillity is pretty high on the holiday wish list. Nestled in its beautiful natural setting, Tarka is the perfect antidote to the everyday stresses of modern life. Tarka Holiday Park puts you in reach of the many activities and stunning locations North Devon is renowned for; from the golden beaches of Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Instow, to the 180 miles of coastal paths, riversides and magnificent views. Why not walk or cycle the famous Tarka Trail during your visit? Inspired by Henry Williamson’s famous fictional novel, it follows the route taken by "Tarka the Otter" in the book of the same name. The Trail takes you through wonderful Devon scenery, with rich green countryside, wooded river valleys, craggy moorland, and dramatic coastline. As mentioned, Barnstaple is also on the doorstep, and you could spend an entire day visiting the shops, cafés and other attractions; the Pannier Market and the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon are particular favourites for holiday guests. So if stunning scenery is your interest, you’ll be spoilt for choice, from the dramatic Jurassic coastline to the north or the open moorland of Exmoor to the east, all no more than a half hour drive away.
Ashford is a small village 1.5 miles from the main North Devon town of Barnstaple. The village faces South and has very pleasant views of the River Taw as it flows along the Estuary to its confluence with the Torridge River and the Atlantic Ocean
Barnstaple Town Centre is the historic and regional centre of North Devon. It is situated in the valley of the River Taw and surrounded by beautiful countryside and some of the area’s best beaches. As the commercial centre of the region, the town centre offers a variety of banking, schooling and recreational facilities including a theatre, cinema, leisure centre and restaurants. The vibrant town combines modern shopping amenities with a bustling market atmosphere.
The popular sandy beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Instow are within easy reach and the A361 North Devon Link Road provides convenient access to the M5 motorway network and beyond.
Directions
Head North West out of Barnstaple along the Braunton Road, the B3149. Proceed along this road until reaching the dual carriageway. Take the first major right hand turning into Tarka Holiday Park where visitor's parking will be easily found on your left hand side.

Broadband availability and predicted speed
Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:
Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
