This house is deceiving as you walk in as it appears quite unimposing from the road but as soon as you enter it begins to expand. The huge open plan kitchen, dining and breakfast areas with bifold doors that open up onto the indoor swimming pool is the heart of the home and perfect for entertaining. There is also a quiet room sitting room that would be perfect for relaxing quietly away from other elements in the house.

The current owners also installed an elevator shaft to service the four stories of the house to try and cater for the possibilities of elderly or disabled being able to access all areas of the dwelling.

The area is a quiet and peaceful place central to the busy hustle and bustle of Loughton High Street a mile and a half in one direction, or the rural village style of Theydon Bois about a mile in the other direction. You are also surrounded by forestry if you like to walk dogs or just like a walk in the forest.

The house has been totally refurbished throughout and is in exceptional order and has been developed and extended throughout the years to create a substantial family home.

The basement area has been sectioned off to make the most of the space and includes a studio, cinema room and a gym. There is also a shower room & sauna which is accessible from the pool.

There are 6 double bedrooms spread across the 2 upper floors, 5 of which have en-suite shower rooms and dressing rooms.

It is hard to find any property in this area that can rival what this house has to offer.

What the Owner says:
We have lived in Ripley View for over twenty years. It was in an ill state of repair being only a bungalow at that time with a stable block at the rear. The original owner was apparently a horse racing magnate and this house was the first to be developed in the grounds of the original Debden Hall that had fallen into disrepair in the late 1950's.

In the early 2000's we set about converting the stables and outbuildings into offices, then re-developed the stables into the bungalow/annex that we still reside in. Once planning was obtained, we moved into the annex in 2009. We had acquired another parcel of land that contained the original access to Debden Hall believing that if the land at the rear containing the original gates was ever developed, it would provide an access to the bungalow/annex that could become a separate residential dwelling with a simple change of use (subject to planning).

We commenced work on the main house in 2015 and I had spent 5 years redeveloping the property mostly myself having had circa 30 years' experience in design and construction. I had tried to incorporate as many successful features and ideas that I had included in private contracts for clients during the 1990's. However, time has passed and the children have all grown and moved out. The property is simply too large for us now, being on our own, which is why we still reside in the bungalow/annex.

Broadband availability and predicted speed: obtained from Ofcom on December 18, 2021

Broadband speed is measured in megabits per second, with the number returned showing how fast the connection is. Each reading is based on the highest predicted speed of any major broadband network for services that deliver the download speeds. The following are the different readings that we may display:

    Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
    Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
    Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s

The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2

Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength: obtained from Ofcom on December 25, 2021

Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:

Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services

Energy Performance data and Internal floor area: obtained on August 24, 2019 from The Energy Performance of Buildings (Certificates and Inspections) (England and Wales) Regulations 2007 or the Home Report if in relation to a residential property in Scotland.
