Seller's Insight

Imagine – the family home that has EVERYTHING!!

We moved here from a large detached house in the Wiltshire countryside over 10 years ago. The huge living room at The Village – previously the Sports Hall of the Lavender Hill School – with over 1500 square feet of floorspace, full-height windows facing south and a 15-foot high ceiling – was what had first attracted us. Our boys were already dreaming of playing badminton in the living room, though we had to mention that it may not always be convenient.

As we moved in, the two parking spaces and the lift were much appreciated, as was the extraordinary amount of storage space within the property. The light and spacious master bedroom with its luxurious suite of bathing and dressing rooms above, was an indulgent pleasure at the end of a busy day. The boys had a room and a bathroom each with another bedroom for friends on a sleep-over. The study and separate TV room were both popular places for them to have time and space to themselves. A full English Breakfast was made easy thanks to the well-equipped kitchen with its 5-ringed gas hob and huge breakfast bar.

A sense of security, of privacy and complete peace and quiet soon became an added pleasure. Sitting in the well-tended high-walled communal garden under the shade of mature trees, we had to pinch ourselves to check we really were living in London, three quarters of a mile from the River Thames and a mile and a half from Kings Road, Chelsea!

The capacious living room with its open-plan kitchen and bar came into its own for the house-warming party – with plenty of room for over 65 guests without a hint of over-crowding – neither friends nor family had to be left out. This set the tone for many memorable family gatherings to follow.

During our ten happy years at The Village, the convenience of nearby shopping, restaurants, some genuine London pubs – and Clapham Junction station – were all major benefits, as was the outside space and greenery afforded by Battersea Park and Clapham Common, both within walking distance. There was always something to see or do at both locations – ranging from a children's zoo, pop concerts, travelling circuses and fun-fairs to fireworks and ice-skating during the Festive Season.

Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
