The Villa:

This 5 bedroom villa is distributed on two floors, the ground floor is dedicated to the social space and comprises three wooden volumes that define and embrace the kitchen, a social toilet, an entrance area that allows the transition to the living room designed as an open space, with vertical communications - the stairs and the elevator supporting the upper floor - all of these areas include several storage structures.

Between these spaces, the circulation is continuous, fluid, and enhancing the communication processes, the room acts as a space for connection and relationship with the outer areas of the lot where the house is inserted, extending through the garden and towards the pool culminating in a beautiful vertical garden.

The 1st floor consists of four bedrooms, two of which are suite rooms. This is a floor, in which the interior follows a constant organic metric, with light scenes emerging from the roof at the level of the circulation spaces which accentuate the determinant importance of its technical characteristics and allows to create a system that regulates the thermal conditions and, above all, proposes a spatial fluidity of light inside the house, down to the ground floor.

Outside there is a leisure area, which includes a large dining and living room with a modern kitchenette, a Turkish bath, and a sanitary facility to support this entire space and the swimming pool.

On the roof of the exterior structure/building, following the vertical garden, there is a solarium.

The Architect

João Nava's Atelier has been involved in the construction of new buildings as well as renovation works, urban regeneration, and interior design, mostly within the private sector, corporate and familiar. lines and materials define an architecture that constantly relies on both environmental and aesthetic concerns.

A solid theoretical background allows the definition of a coherent line of work that ensures a willingness to control the architectural form. a line of thinking which also integrates architectural solutions, constructive processes, and ecological beliefs.

João Nava's work works won several awards (national and international) and are duly recognized in competitions, exhibitions, publications, and architectural conferences. 

The Location:

Oeiras Ocean Villa project is located in one of the most important areas of Oeiras. The beach is only a 5 minutes’ walk away, and from any type of transport needed in our day-to-day activities.

A 20-minute drive will take you to Lisbon. Oeiras is one of the best Municipalities in Portugal, with an excellent quality of life, safe streets and just ideal for family living.

The Municipality of Oeiras is characterized by its modernism, rich history, and heritage, with a special mention to the wonderful palace of the Marquis de Pombal, surrounded by majestic gardens from the 17th century, with many green and leisure areas with a historic center going through renovation - which respects the past and innovates the present.

In the surroundings of the Oeiras Ocean Villa stands out the Passeio Marítimo de Oeiras, the theme park Parque dos Poetas, the Fort of São Julião da Barra and the Ocean Pool being these the main and preferred attractions for a family get-together.

The project location is unique, just a short distance from the coast with a fantastic seawall that allows access to the Oeiras marina and the most sought after beaches in this Municipality, due to the sea conditions for surfing, soft and golden sands, terraces and restaurants with direct view over the beaches of Santo Amaro, Carcavelos and Torre.

An investment project is currently underway that aims to make Oeiras the European capital of culture with the recovery and rehabilitation of all the historical part and heritage of this Municipality, in perfect harmony with the most recent outstanding projects, such as the New School of Business and Economics (SBE), in Carcavelos, and the Gulbenkian Institute of Science (IGC).
