A ferry connects Lochranza with Claonaig in the summer months and Tarbert in the Winter both on the Kintyre peninsula.
The village of Brodick is only a 30 minute car journey from Lochranza, where the main ferry terminal is situated and connects the island with Ardrossan. The village is also home to the bus station with regular bus services around the island to link with the ferry times. There are a number of hotels, restaurant, leisure facilities and the Co-op supermarket.
