Buckles was built at the turn of the last century and is a classic Arts and Crafts country house. Elevated and set back from the lane, the house has large, light reception rooms and enjoying rural views to front and rear. Upstairs, particularly to the north west, the views are uninterrupted across in-hand pasture and acres of neighbouring woodland. Adjacent to the house is a courtyard of buildings which include a useful two bedroom cottage and other period buildings with much potential.

The gardens and grounds are particularly notable. As well as semi-formal lawns and beds surrounding the house there is a wonderful kitchen garden lined along one side by potting sheds and greenhouses. Well screened from view is also an all-weather tennis court. To the rear of the house, separated by a ha-ha is parkland and woodland extending in all to about 10 acres.
