This will be the largest new development in the area since James Burton and his son Decimus first developed St Leonards as a seaside resort in the 19th century.
The Archery Ground, a former quarry used in the 19th century by the Royal St Leonards Archers and later laid out as a garden, was turned to educational use for the Hastings College of Arts and Technology in the 1950's.

History - In 1828 James Burton, a significant builder in Georgian London, started building the new town of St Leonards . Villas surrounding the gardens, in Regency Gothic and cottage styles, are integral elements of the landscape. After his death in 1837, his son Decimus, a major 19th century architect, started the second phase of building St Leonards by acquiring more land and extending the development westward. He lived in the town for the remainder of his life.
Many well known people have been linked to the Archery Ground and Archery Gardens, including the young Princess Victoria, who when visiting the town in 1834 became patron of the Society of St Leonards Archers and in 1837 renamed the Society 'The Queen's Royal St Leonards Archers'.

Basic: Up to 30 Mbit/s
Super-fast: Between 30 Mbit/s and 300 Mbit/s
Ultra-fast: Over 300 Mbit/s
The data is updated three times a year. The checker results are predictions and should not be regarded as guaranteed. For more information, see: https://checker.ofcom.org.uk/en-gb/about-checker#Answer_0_2
Mobile phone signal availability and predicted strength
Mobile signal predictions are provided by the four UK mobile network operators: EE, O2, Three and Vodafone. Predictions can vary significantly from the coverage you may actually experience as a result of local factors (especially terrain). Ofcom has tested the actual coverage provided in various locations around the UK to help ensure that these predictions are reasonable. The values shown against a property can be broken down as follows:
Clear: No bars, no signal predicted
Red: One bar, reliable signal unlikely
Amber: Two bars, may experience problems with connectivity
Green: Three bars, likely to have good coverage and receive a data rate to support basic web services
Enhanced: Full bars, likely to have good coverage indoors and to receive an enhanced data rate to support multimedia services
