Cramlington

Set over three floors, this beautiful Grade II listed Georgian house is situated in the market town of Diss, Norfolk. Previously known as the Doctor’s House and now as The Cedars, the home dates back to 1780 and is set in 1.3 acres of gardens and grounds. With nine bedrooms, a coach house and a library, this is a home spanning three floors. It is a well-known historic home and was originally three cottages. The Cedars – on the market for £775,000 – has been in the current ownership for the last 11 years and during this time it is has been painstakingly restored. A number of the original fireplaces have been exposed and restored in the majority of the rooms along with the coving and plasterwork. In parts, accurate bespoke replacements have been installed to replace some of the missing original features. Charming features still remain such as the silver safe, lead lined work top in the butler’s room, meat safe, a surface water well and a number of now blocked up secret passage ways that would have been used by the maids to go about unnoticed.
