Local knowledge

Living in Windsor

Windsor offers excellent communication links and is well located close to the M4, M25, M40, M3 and also Heathrow Airport. The town has two mainline railway stations making it an ideal location for commuters; Windsor Central, which runs to Paddington via Slough in under 30 minutes and Windsor Riverside which connects to Waterloo in 55 minutes.

Windsor’s range of schools for all ages includes well-known private schools such as Eton College, St George’s and Upton House. Heritage and tradition are evident everywhere in Windsor and many properties date back to the Victorian and Georgian eras or earlier.
Windsor is, of course, famous for its Castle whose magnificent battlements and towers are visible on approaching the town. Although suffering from fire damage in 1992 the Castle has now been restored to its former glory and remains an important location for state events and entertainment.
