Local knowledge

Living in Slough

Slough lies just north of the M4 in Berkshire, accessed on the West from J7 and to Slough centre from J6. From the M4 there’s excellent access to the M25, the rest of the motorway network and London Heathrow. Major bus routes link Slough to neighbouring Windsor and to Heathrow Airport, while the mainline station offers services to London Paddington (22 minutes) and to Reading, Oxford, Bristol and the West Country. Slough is also located close to the new Crossrail route which will give direct, rapid rail access to The City.

Transport links make Slough an ideal location for those working in London, but looking for affordable accommodation and it attracts a large number of young professionals and families. Employment prospects locally are excellent with Slough Trading Estate (one of the largest in Europe) housing some 500 companies including large corporates such as Fiat, Centrica and Mars.
