Claygate is a self contained village, virtually surrounded by woodland walks and countryside, yet only 27 minutes by train to London Waterloo. The larger centres of Esher and Kingston are nearby and the area is well served with private and state schools. There are a number of excellent golf courses in the area and there's racing at Sandown Park in Esher.
Claygate is a vibrant community with its own cricket club, choral and dramatic societies and flower show on Claygate's recreation ground in Summer.
