The house is lovely, but it was without doubt the amazing setting that sold it to us. We don't overlook any other properties and at the back of the house we enjoy terrific views across open grassland all the way to the forest beyond and from the rear garden there are uninterrupted views over London. The land behind regularly fills with deer, sometimes they'll even wander into the garden, and in the field opposite one of our neighbours keeps horses so we often feel as if we're living deep in the countryside. However, we're just a few minutes' drive from places such as Epping and Loughton, and we can either hop on the Underground or jump in the car and be in the centre of London in next to no time. It's a phrase that's often overused, but this really is a place that offers the best of both worlds.We've had thirteen happy years in this house, but it's the setting that I'm going to miss the most. We enjoy total and utter privacy, it's so quiet here and the views are just stunning, but we have the peace of mind of knowing that absolutely everything we might want or need is within very easy reach.
