Local primary schools are located in Hurst Green, Etchingham, Burwash and Stonegate, and comprehensive and grammar schools can also be found in nearby Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge. Private schools nearby include Benenden, Tonbridge, Holmewood House Preparatory School, Claremont Preparatory and Senior School and Vinehall Preparatory School.

Local Attractions

Hurst Green is located within the Sussex High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a medieval landscape of wooded, rolling hills studded with sandstone outcrops; small, irregular-shaped fields; scattered farmsteads; and ancient routeways.

A variety of activities including water sports, fishing, cycling, walking, horse riding and abseiling are on offer at nearby Bewl Water and Bedgebury Forest. The Ian Woosnam designed Dale Hill golf course is also close by in Ticehurst.

Places of historic interest include Bodiam Castle, Old Scotney Castle, and Rudyard Kipling's home, Bateman's, in Burwash, Battle Abbey and Battlefield, to name but a few. The seaside resorts of Hastings, Eastbourne and Brighton are also within easy reach.
