Fagus Wood is a stunning beech wood set in the North Wessex Downs.

Impressive well-spaced beech trees form the main canopy with young self seeded holly and hazel at lower levels. Wide open glades throughout the wood allow light to pour into the site creating a spacious and calming space while offering a wealth of options for camping and woodland activities. The ground is flat and dry throughout and easy to explore. Situated on higher ground, the site enjoys attractive westward views and plenty of evening sunshine.

The sunny clearings attract a wide variety of birdlife and insects. Roe, fallow and muntjac deer are frequent visitors, along with woodland hares.

Fagus Wood offers a peaceful and private setting well away from roads. At just under four and a half acres, it would make an excellent starting point for anyone interested in woodland management without taking on an overwhelming amount of work.

The small village of Enham, with its local shop, and The Oak pub in Smannell are both within walking distance. The market town of Andover is only a five-minute drive away and provides convenient access to the A303.

Boundaries: The boundary is open on all sides and borders neighbouring woodland E, W and N. South follows the main access track. All boundaries are clearly marked with purple paint on posts and trees.

Access: There is excellent vehicle access all year round via a hard track and shared locked gate. Parking is also possible inside the woodland itself.

Covenant: There is a covenant on the wood designed to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of this and adjoining woodlands.

For viewing purposes, park on the verge near the main entrance as marked on the map. Please don't block the gate.

To access the woodland, climb over the gate or pass through the boundary and follow the track marked blue on the map.

After approximately 900m, the entrance to Fagus Wood will be on your right.
