STREET, SOMERSET, BA16 0JE
A most appealing 1930s three-bedroom semi-detached home, overlooking Merriman Park, just a short walk from the High Street.
The property has extended accommodation including a porch, sitting room, kitchen/dining room, garden room, utility room, ground floor shower room, three double bedrooms and a family bathroom.
There is good frontage with ample driveway parking for three cars, and lawned gardens to the front and rear.
Accommodation
18 Merriman Gardens has attractive blue Lias and red brick elevations, set beneath a tiled roof. The property stands well back from the quiet lane and enjoys a delightful position overlooking Merriman Park. The position is further improved by the proximity to the high street (less than a five-minute walk) and easy walking access to the local schools.
A porch leads through to an entrance hall, where the staircase rises to the first floor directly ahead, and doors lead into reception rooms on either side. The sitting room, on the right-hand-side has a front-facing window, and further doors leading into the garden room and kitchen.
The kitchen has been intelligently reconfigured by removing an old chimney breast to adjoin the dining area, creating an open-plan space that transforms the feel of the room. The kitchen has a good range of modern fitted units with a breakfast bar, timber-effect worktops and appliances including a mid-level electric oven, a gas hob, and plumbing for a dishwasher. Stylish pendant downlights and a dual aspect ensure the room is always filled with light. There is a cupboard for understairs storage. Off the kitchen, there is a door out to the side access, and internal doors leading into the ground floor shower room with loo and the utility room, which has plumbing for white goods.
The house has been thoughtfully extended to the rear to add a well-proportioned garden room with a westerly aspect and French doors opening to the patio.
Leading upstairs, there is a light and airy landing with a loft hatch above, three double bedrooms and a family bathroom. All three of the bedrooms enjoy built-in cupboards, one of which in the guest room houses the central heating boiler. The bathroom has a bath with an overhead shower, basin and loo.
Outside
Immediately in front of the house, there is ample gravelled off-street parking for up to three cars. Between the parking and the house, there is a neatly maintained front lawn with fencing on either side.
A side access, shared with next door, accesses the garden, which is secured by a garden gate and fencing on all three sides. The garden is laid to lawn and enjoys a sunny westerly-facing aspect. Capitalising on the afternoon sun, there is a patio at the back of the house, ideal for al-fresco dining. Within the garden, there is also a garden shed, exterior lighting and an outdoor tap.
About the area
Street is a large village and civil parish in the county of Somerset, having a population of about 11,800 and situated just 2 miles south west of Glastonbury. Most of its history is dominated by that of Glastonbury, and for many years it housed the corporate headquarters and factories of 'Clarks' shoes; these days the head office is still there, along with its very popular museum and the nationally famous Clarks Village – home to over two hundred discounted retail outlets. Street has an excellent variety of restaurants with the choice of cuisines including Chinese, Indian, Italian, Thai and more. Just a few steps from the house, Merriman Park is ideal for dog walkers, and it has a play area and sensory garden. There is a popular fish & chip shop a stone's throw away, too.
There is a wide range of clubs and societies (cultural and sporting) and excellent state & independent schools in the area, including primary schools, Millfield, Glastonbury, Wells Blue School, Wells Cathedral School. Bristol, Bath, Taunton and Yeovil are all within commuting distance.

A few extra comments
Mortgages – we can help.
Bridging loans – We can help.
Moving house is complicated and stressful when a sale and purchase needs to be tied together in terms of finance and timing.
Sometimes, we can negotiate an agreement that suits both sellers and buyers.
Sometimes, a bridging loan can solve problems and remove stress.
Call us for information on any of these points.
