Stunning Victorian Home Opposite Victoria Park – Central Plymouth
Situated directly opposite Victoria Park, this beautiful Victorian mid-terrace home enjoys a wonderful outlook over the park in one of Plymouth’s most sought-after central locations.
The accommodation begins with a welcoming entrance hallway leading to a separate lounge featuring an attractive fireplace. To the rear of the property is a superb open-plan living space, with the dining room flowing seamlessly into the family room and modern kitchen, creating a fantastic area for everyday living and entertaining.
On the first floor are three bedrooms, comprising two generous doubles and a single bedroom currently used as a dressing room, along with a fitted family bathroom. The loft was converted many years ago and is accessed via a staircase from the landing. This space has been utilised for storage and additional accommodation.
Externally, the property benefits from a landscaped rear garden, an outside store, and the rare advantage of parking to the rear. Further features include double glazing, gas central heating, and solar panels, enhancing the home’s energy efficiency and reducing running costs.
The vendors have lived in the property for 31 years, with a long-standing family connection to the neighbouring house, adding to the sense of history and character this home offers.
Owners’ comments:
We bought this house because it’s the area where we grew up. I lived next door for many years, and when this property came up for sale it felt like the right decision. There were no estate agent fees, and it meant we could live next to my parents, which was incredibly helpful when our two sons were young, as they were able to help with childcare.
We’ve lived here for 31 years, and it will be hard to leave. I’ll really miss how easy it is to get into town, to the shops, and to the railway station – everything is within walking distance. We’ve always walked into town, and it’s been such a simple and convenient way of life.
The park directly in front of us has been a huge part of our lives. I grew up there, and so did our sons. It’s perfect for dog walking and outdoor time. Although we’re so close to the city centre, the area never feels busy or built-up – it’s peaceful and residential.
Travel has always been easy too. The railway station is only a short walk away, and even when we’ve gone on holiday, we’ve simply walked up the road with our suitcases to catch the train to the airport.
The schools nearby have also been a big plus. The primary school is just five minutes away, with a safe pedestrian crossing and a 20mph speed limit. There are also good secondary schools close by. Overall, it’s the convenience of everything being so close – schools, shops, transport and green spaces – while still feeling like a quiet neighbourhood that we’ve loved most about living here.
