The Tour

Reconfigured and extended by the current owners, the interiors have been meticulously refurbished. All windows at the back of the house are acoustic, ensuring a tranquil and relaxed environment. Eco-conscious additions include solar panels and an air-source heat pump.



An open-plan living room extension houses a kitchen and dining area. Floor-to-ceiling glass panels slide open to a south-westerly patio, and an internal red brick wall continues outside, allowing seamless connection with the green spaces beyond. The kitchen is bespoke from Burnhill; it has full-height units, a large island and a Calacatta worktop. Integrated appliances are by Miele and include a hob, self-cleaning and steam ovens, and warming drawers; there is also a Quooker cube. Adjacent to the kitchen is a utility and plant room.



At the front of the house is an inviting living room with a contemporary fireplace, along with built-in shelves and cupboards. There is a WC under the stairs, fitted with terrazzo concrete tiles and an ember sink by Kast.



From the hallway, a staircase connects to the upper floors, where bold-red sisal carpets have been added. There are two bright bedrooms on the first floor, both with built-in wardrobes. The first, positioned at the front, is painted in ‘Piglet’ pink by Coats. The second is at the rear and overlooks the garden. There is also a shower room with wood and marble finishes from Mandarin Stone on this floor.



Arranged across the entire second floor, the principal bedroom has ribbon windows and beautiful parquet flooring. Outdoor Space



Glass and aluminum doors in the reception area provide seamless flow between indoor and out, where a south-facing paved patio has plenty of space for relaxing and dining outside in the warmer months. Cedar screens along the borders ensure quiet and privacy. A short flight of brick steps ascends to a raised section with planted borders and access to a handy shed.



Two off-street parking spaces are available at the front of the house.



The Area



Chislehurst is a popular historic village served by a selection of shops, restaurants and excellent schools. The local high street teems with dining options such as the Giggling Squid, Bank House, Cote, Quattordici and Due Amici. Nearby, the Royal Parade has a fantastic range of independent shops and Chislehurst Golf Club is half a mile away. Less than a five-minute walk from the house is a local shop with a wide range of organic and independent produce, as well as a zero-waste refill section.



The area offers plenty of opportunities for walking in nature. Set at the edge of town and managed by the National Trust is the Hawkwood Estate, with 230 acres of parkland and grazed pastures. At its core is an 18th-century mansion built by Robert Jenner, which occupies a prominent position overlooking a valley. Scadbury Park Nature Reserve is an eight-minute drive away, home to a diverse wildlife and a 2.5-mile trail winding its way across 300 acres of beautifully maintained countryside.



Chislehurst station is a five-minute walk from the house and offers frequent railway services to London Bridge and Charing Cross, with journey times of approximately 15-30 minutes. London Gatwick Airport is approximately 45 minutes’ drive away, and European train travel is possible from nearby Ebbsfleet International (a 30-minute drive).
