Broad Bow is a beautiful conifer woodland on the outskirts of Tunbridge Wells, set within the High Weald National Landscape.

Veteran Western Hemlock tower throughout the site, joined by mature Scots Pine, both giving the woodland an impressive sense of scale. Lower down, chestnut, birch, oak and mountain ash add variety to the mix.

The terrain is flat and easy to explore. Soft mosses and grass cushion your steps as clear paths wind through the trees, opening into peaceful glades and a well-established camp area with a firepit. There are also plenty of more secluded spots that work well for smaller, private camps, making this an ideal woodland for family adventures, time with friends, or simply enjoying the quiet.

Deer are common in the wider Broadwater Forest, of which Broad Bow is a part. If you sit quietly, you have an excellent chance of seeing them pass through.

Just a few minutes’ walk away is the RSPB’s 450-acre Broadwater Warren Nature Reserve, where you may hear or spot birds such as Goldcrest, Siskin, Lesser Redpoll, Green Woodpecker, and Marsh Tit. In summer, migrants including Blackcap, Whitethroat, Nightjar, and Yellowhammer are often sighted.

The woodland is conveniently close to Tunbridge Wells. High Rocks train station and the Spa Valley Railway are around a ten-minute walk away, and nearby you’ll also find the High Rocks pub and gardens.

District is Wealden and the County Council is East Sussex.

Boundaries: The boundary is fenced on all sides. NE follows Fairview Lane, SE borders neighbouring woodland, S borders Lodge Lane and W follows a woodland path and neighbouring woodland beyond.

Access: There is excellent vehicle access all year round via a private locked gate with direct road access. Parking for vehicles is possible within the woodland itself.

Covenant: There is a covenant on the wood designed to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of this and adjoining woodlands.
