There are handy convenience stores and independent cafes just around the corner. Then, within a 10-15 minute walk, you'll find a great mix of bakeries, restaurants, bars and shops. We spend most weekend mornings on Wood Street grabbing a coffee and pastry, and often stop for an after-work drink on our way home from the station. Some of our favourite spots include Clapton Craft, The Nags Head, Vino Tap, Dudley's, and Wood Street Bakery, but there are plenty more to discover.
There's also no shortage of green space: Highams Park Lake and Epping Forest are perfect for weekend walks, and Lloyd Park is our regular Saturday spot for tennis, picnics, and the weekly street-food market. It's a great balance of city life and relaxed, community feel.
Transport:
The flat sits between Highams Park and Wood Street Overground stations (Weaver Line), both around a 10-15 minute walk away. There's also a 212 bus stop just a couple of minutes from the flat, taking you directly to Walthamstow Central (for the Victoria Line) in about 10 minutes, or it's a 25-minute walk if you prefer. Several other bus routes also run from the end of the road, giving you easy access across Walthamstow and beyond.
If you have a car, there's permit parking directly outside the flat, and we've been pleasantly surprised that there are always plenty of spaces available.
