A pretty fortified village which is nestled on a hillside with good local amenities. There is a grocery store stocking all essential everyday needs from fresh food to wine and toiletries. A Bistro Bar serving drinks and food. Two Boulangeries offering freshly baked bread daily. An Auberge with Bar and Restaurant, a Hairdressers, Vet and hardware store.
The Lake is a 15 minute walk from the cottage and you will find a host of activities to make your days and holiday enjoyable: supervised swimming (July and August), water games, children's playground, playground in the trees, boules pitch, tennis court, street basketball court, Pumptrack (track for all non-motorized vehicles), hiking trails, mountain bike trails, pedalo and paddles for hire, workout area.
The Lakeside Bar and Restaurant is a popular spot in the summer months offering great food and entertainment in the evenings with music and singers. There is often a local market offering artisan producers through the season.
You can be in larger towns such as Gueret and La Chatre in around 30 minutes which offer larger supermarkets, shops and train stations. The closest supermarket can be found in Bonnat around 10 minutes’ drive and the popular town of Boussac with its fabulous weekly market is only 20 minutes’ drive away.
