Features and description
The Old Post Office
Set in the heart of a peaceful coastal village, The Old Post Office is a beautifully refurbished character cottage offering charm, comfort, and countryside views. Thoughtfully modernised while retaining its original features, this unique home sits within easy reach of beaches, local walks, and the nearby market town of Kingsbridge.
A wooden stable door opens into a practical entrance porch, leading through to the main living space. Here you’ll find curved walls, exposed timber beams, and a striking inglenook fireplace with wood-burning stove — a warm and inviting focal point. A further bedroom/snug/reception room adjoins the living area.
The kitchen is set a step up from the living room and is fitted with a generous range of wall and floor units. Windows frame open countryside views to the rear. Integrated appliances include oven with hob and extractor, fridge freezer, washing machine, and dishwasher. A small internal lobby provides access to the outside and to a contemporary downstairs cloakroom and convenient WC.
Stairs rise to the first floor where the landing leads to two well-proportioned double bedrooms, both featuring built-in wardrobes. The family bathroom is also located on this level and offers a bath with shower over, low-level WC, and wash basin with vanity storage.
Externally, there is a small gravelled courtyard to the front, while a gated side pathway leads to a further private courtyard and raised deck area — perfect for enjoying the open countryside views. Useful storage space is also available.
The property benefits from underfloor heating and is mostly double glazed. Parking is available within the village just a short stroll away, as is the popular local pub The Pig’s Nose. Beautiful beaches and scenic coastal walks are close by, with Kingsbridge approximately 20 minutes away.
