From the Haltwhistle office head West, follow the road round to the left, take the first right turn onto West Road, follow this road until you come to the T junction. Turn left onto the A69, take the first right for Alston. Continue for about 4 miles and take the first turning left after the old Herdley Bank primary school and a row of former Council houses. Having turned off the main road, continue down the track. As you approach the bottom the road splits to the left and you will need to continue up the road, and the entrance can be found on the right-hand side after the neighbouring properties.
Alternative parking can be found to the car park for the viaduct.
