Nonington includes a 900 year old church, a garage and a primary school, a cricket club, a children's playpark and a village hall with various activities. Nearby Chillenden has the famous Griffins Head pub restaurant and also within easy reach is Northbourne prep school and Wingham village with its excellent pubs restaurants, convenience store and post office as well as Gibsons farm shop. Sandwich is not far with its individual shops, eateries and championship golf courses.
