The combination of a truly beautiful home and the absolutely delightful, almost cottage like and very private (backing onto a wooded plantation) garden, makes this one of the nicest 3 bedroomed Semi Detached homes we have seen.

Summary of Accommodation

Ground Floor

Reception hall. WC with a smart and clever space-saving “combination” WC/WHB unit. A fine open plan lounge/dining room with bay window and fireplace a modern log-burning stove. The rear extension provides a really lovely snug (sitting room) with an almost seamless connection to the rear garden, featuring an impressive (large) set of patio doors plus a feature “fixed frame”, almost floor-to-ceiling, side window. A really lovely space. The kitchen was renewed, with German units, in 2020 and feature smart flush, high-gloss, units in a pale taupe colour offset by brass coloured handles and both oak laminate worktops and wall panels - very appealing design. A new black sink unit along with black coloured dishwasher, washing machine, and fridge-freezer makes for a nice contrast. Additionally there is a cooker with gas hobs and a cooker hood.

First Floor

A staircase ascends to an upper hallway where a loft ladder accesses the attic. There are three beautifully decorated bedrooms here - two doubles and one single, the latter used as a home office. The smart modern bathroom has a mix of wall tiles and wet-wall panelling and, as with all of the house, most tastefully decorated. Over the bath is a powerful Mira Element thermostatic shower. Chrome towel radiator. Three-section toilet cabinet.

One of the principal design elements is the use of wall panelling to rooms – WC, lounge/dining room, snug, staircase,and bedrooms all of which are painted in tones to marry with the decorative theme of each area. In bedroom 2, for example, the coloured panelling matches that of the wardrobe furniture which for those interested, could be included as part of the sale.

Windows and exterior doors were renewed in 2021 with quality uPVC framed double glazed units in white. Central heating is mains gas and here a new boiler was installed about two years ago (Ideal Esprit eco2 combination boiler).

Garden

The garden is a huge asset. A level plot, it is extremely well planted and designed with the rear garden being a particular delight offering different sections to enjoy the sun at various parts of the day. The rear garden is very private and thoughtfully planned creating, almost, a rural country garden with lots of corners in which to sit and enjoy. It backs onto a substantial woodland corridor that runs through the centre of Bardowie. Really gives the house a great sense of detachment.

Location

Bardowie is located just to the rural southeast outskirts of Milngavie and is a charming hamlet in the ancient parish of Baldernock, noted for the Old Parish Kirk (Bunty’s Kirk), which dates to 1795 but upon which has been a place of worship as far back as 1236. Within Bardowie, and just at the foot of Station Road, is it's charming little Tennis Club, with two courts. Off Craigmaddie Road is The Clyde Cruising Dingy Section on Bardowie’s centrepiece, Bardowie Loch overlooked by the baronial Bardowie Castle.

Despite its semi-rural idyll the house is extremely handy being only 2.5 miles to Milngavie Railway station, and the village centre, and only 3 miles to Bearsden Cross. Glasgow City centre can be reached, by car, during off peak times in about 20 minutes.

For those with children the local primary school is the charming Baldernock Primary at Barnellen () with secondary, to which a bus is laid on, at the high-performing Douglas Academy in Milngavie.
